Worldwide foldable smartphone shipments are set to grow 10 percent year-on-year to 20.6 million units in 2025, according to IDC, and are expected to outperform the overall smartphone market through the forecast period. By 2029, foldables are projected to account for over 10 percent of global smartphone market value. Growth is expected to surge in 2026, driven by launches from Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. Apple alone could capture over 22 percent unit share, boosting the segment’s premium value.
