Dollar General Celebrates Feeding America Anniversary

Doing well by doing good: Dollar General (NYSE: DG) announced an additional $1-million donation to celebrate its fifth-year partnership anniversary with Feeding America®, which helps address national food insecurity impacting more than 47 million people in the U.S. Since piloting the program in 2019 and formally announcing it in 2021, Dollar General has donated more than $5 million as well as more than 60 million meals through in-kind donations.
“With stores and distribution centers located throughout the country in rural, suburban and metropolitan areas alike, we are proud to partner with Feeding America to address food insecurity,” shared Denine Torr, Dollar General’s vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy.
“As we embark on our sixth year of partnership, we are grateful for the milestones we have accomplished with Feeding America and its partner food banks to stock pantries and increase food access for neighbors in need.”
In 2024, Dollar General donated more than 28 million pounds of food from stores and distribution centers, and in February 2025, the Company surpassed an exciting milestone of providing more than 50 million meals. Dollar General currently serves more than 40% of U.S. counties through product donations.
DG shares dipped 52 cents Wednesday to $112.17
