WhatsApp has announced New Year 2026 features as it prepares for its busiest day of the year, when message and call volumes are claimed to exceed its daily average of over 100 billion messages and 2 billion calls. The update includes a 2026 sticker pack, new video call effects like fireworks and confetti, animated confetti reactions, and animated stickers for Status updates. WhatsApp also highlighted group chat tools such as events, polls, live location sharing, and voice or video notes to help users plan New Year celebrations.
