Redmi is said to be working on a handset, which could ship with an 8,500mAh to 9,000mAh battery. This comes weeks after a report suggested that another Chinese tech company is developing a smartphone that would pack a 10,000mAh battery. Advancements in battery development methods, along with the arrival of the silicon-carbon technology, have helped companies pack higher-capacity batteries without increasing the thickness of handsets.
