Asia Rallies After Wall St. Pauses
Asia-Pacific markets traded mostly higher Wednesday after Wall Street halted its six-day win streak.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 stumbled 230.51 points, or 0.6%, to 37,298.98, after the country reported that exports slowed for a second straight month as the country reels under U.S. President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng gathered 146.3 points, or 0.6%, to 23,827.78.
In other markets
In China, the CSI 300 gained 18.21 points, or 0.5%, to 3,916.38.
In Korea, the Kospi index recovered 23.78 points, or 0.9%, to 2,625.58
In Taiwan, the Taiex Index popped 277.78 points, or 1.3%, to 21,803.91
In Singapore, the Straits Times index moved ahead 0.5 points to 3,882.55
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 took on 58.87 points, or 0.5%, to 12,705.10.
In Australia, the ASX 200 surged 43.44 points, or 0.5%, to 8,386.77
