RCS Universal Profile 4.0 Will Bring Native Video Call and Rich Text Support to Messaging Apps
RCS (Rich Communication Services) Universal Profile 4.0 has been introduced by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) as the latest messaging standard, GSMA’s Technical Director Tom Van Pelt announced on Thursday. The latest RCS profile brings multiple new features, which might soon come to various RCS-based messaging apps. The RCS Universal Profile 4.0 will soon bring native video calls support, which will let users switch from text-based messaging to video calls within a chat window.
