iPhone Air’s C1X Chip Performs on Par With Qualcomm's Flagship X80 Modem, Ookla Says
Apple's C1X network chip has managed to outperform the Qualcomm X80 modem in 19 of 22 analysed markets on various metrics, including latency, according to a report by Ookla, which analyses speedtest results. Similarly, the C1X-equipped iPhone Air managed to also achieve performance parity with the Qualcomm X80 modem, which is found on the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, Apple's C1X chip still lags behind in terms of upload speed. The C1X network chip is also found on the recently launched iPhone 17e.
